WHO:

I'm a second year university student at the University of British Columbia for international relations and political science. I was born and raised in Vancouver but probably won't be staying here after receiving my degree. I currently work closely with Jewish and Russian communities through the Canadian government.

WHY?

Jua is all about modernizing the feeling of home, and living in an area like Vancouver that is constantly changing and molding itself in order to keep pushing boundaries, it only seemed fit to get involved with a brand with this kind of vision. Change is a huge part of my background. My father fled the USSR once it collapsed so him and his family could have a better life. My mother left Israel in order to raise a family away from all the war and bloodshed, and in order to get out of serving her required time in the military as part of her citizenship. Lifestyles stay constant, surroundings do not. Jua is cutting edge fashion that modernizes normalcy for me and teaches me to never stop moving along.

WHO:

I am currently about to graduate from McNair Secondary and go into VCC’s Dental Assistance program along with that I will be doing modeling with Charles Stuart International and continue coaching cheerleading at flight club artistic movement.

WHY?

Growing up I always had an interest for fashion as my aunt had her own business for fashion and I’d always be around designs and articles in progress it was always so interesting what came about as the finished product. Jua is all about loving yourself throughout the worst circumstances in life. When I was 2 years old, my father passed away and my mother has single-handedly raised me herself, not only that, she has been battling cancer for the past 4 years. Just like Jua, I believe that you need to love yourself through tough times which is why I decided to model for this brand. Fashion has always been a passion of mine and I hope to bring Jua’s unique style to life.

I am just about to graduate from Matthew McNair Secondary and start a career in Photography. I have been playing softball for over ten years and continue to contribute to my local softball association.

WHY?

I have always thought about becoming a model for as long as I can remember but decided to be the one behind the camera, though I still have a big interest in modeling. But recently I have been dealing with a lot of hardships in my life the past couple years which resulted in a lot of anxiety lower self-esteem. Jua made me feel comfortable and confident enough to model in cute and comfortable clothes. The road to self-love is a long one, but with the help of Jua’s sleek style, I know I will get there.

WHO:

I’m a graduate from JN Burnett Secondary, going into first year at UBC to study arts. Involved with soccer for over ten years I hope to continue playing in school or outside.

WHY:

Coming from a mixed family, people have always been on my case about how I looked; always trying to guess where I was from. I dealt with low self-confidence and body image issues for so many years not only from the eyes on me but because of social media as well. JUA has made me feel so much more confident and happy in my own skin, and I hope it can do the same for you.
